On 13 July 2020, the Heart Rock Island Festival took place at the Bettinger Mühle in Schmelz, Geemany. The special thing about this festival was that admission was free. Only voluntary donations were requested, 100% of which would go to chronically ill children. This year, the 80s rock tribute band Maidenhead and the Celtic rock band Triddana, among others, thrilled the audience.
Heart Rock Island is backed by Heart and Heavy e.V., a non-profit organisation that has been supporting chronically ill children since 2019 and finances the aid through events such as Heart Rock Island and the Rock Meets Benefits concert series in Lebach. In 2023, the association was able to raise 120,000 euros and donate it to the children directly or via organisations. HK Audio has already been able to support the organisation several times with sound reinforcement equipment for the benefit concerts.
For the sound reinforcement of Heart Rock Island 2024, HK Audio provided a COSMO system consisting of
6 x C 10 with 3 x C 6 per side
6 x CS 218 and 4 x CS 118
and
7 x CX 12 and 1 x CS 118 for monitoring and
2 x CX 12 as infill.
The main PA was operated with Lab.Gruppen PLM12K44, the monitoring with Powersoft X4. In addition, the new filter presets were used, which already caused a sensation and enthusiasm at this year’s Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt.
RAGE meets Benefits
To celebrate 5 years of Heart and Heavy and 40 years of RAGE, the cult rockers can be seen and heard in Lebach on 15 November 2024. Of course, in addition to a fantastic rock party, the focus will once again be on a good cause.
