SI SERIES - HKAudio

With the SI SERIES (System Integrator), HK Audio has unveiled a range of products specifically tailored to meet the needs of today’s installation market.

In cooperation with planners and installers, the products have been made fit for practical use with technical and standard-compliant features as well as a variety of installation options and detailed solutions.

SI SERIES P10i, P10j, S210 V und S210 P

The SI SERIES initially consists of the high-performance P10i and P10j column speakers and the S210 V and S210 P subwoofers.

The i and j versions of the P10 have different vertical dispersion angles, which are a very narrow 5° for the P10i and a wider 15° for the P10j. The directivity of the P10j is asymmetrically (j-shaped) directed downwards, which is achieved by the mechanical design alone and without the use of a DSP.

Due to the line arrangement of the transducers and the narrow vertical opening angle, the P10i/j are particularly suitable for large rooms with long reverberation times or for outdoor long-throw applications. The speakers achieve excellent STI values here, while simultaneously ensuring high transmission quality for speech and music in combination with subwoofers.

Both the P10 and S210 P are tested and certified with IP 66 protection, making them ideal for use in particularly demanding outdoor environments. The combination of dustproof and jet-water-proof mid/high unit and subwoofer is unique worldwide and delivers uncompromising audio quality even under the most difficult environmental conditions. The S210 V subwoofer, which has an IP 44 protection rating, is suitable for less demanding outdoor environments.

All P10 speakers are designed for use in voice alarm systems and have been certified under EN 54-24:2008 (type B outdoor use).

Installations in sports facilities and outdoor areas can be carried out quickly and safely thanks to the extensive range of mounting accessories and the certificate of ball impact safety in accordance with DIN 18032-3.

All P10 speakers are also available with a high-quality, fully encapsulated 100/70 V transformer with three different power taps (37.5/75/150 W). This allows for very high sound pressure levels to be achieved, making the P10i/j TR particularly suitable for use in integrated (voice) alarm systems.

Over 40 colours are available for visual adaptation, even in challenging environments, meaning interior design or heritage requirements can be implemented straight from the factory.

SI SERIES CM-X

CM-X extends the SI SERIES portfolio with particularly high-quality and discreet ceiling loudspeakers with customisable appearance, simple installation and operation. The („Ceiling Mounted“) CM-4, CM-6 and CM-8 models not only offer a particularly high maximum sound pressure level, but also deliver very high sound quality thanks to the selection of high-quality speaker components, extremely low-resonance metal enclosures, newly developed passive crossovers and, last but not least, detailed DSP equalisation.

The loudspeakers can be used as part of a sound system for emergency purposes in accordance with EN 50849 and thus fulfill a dual function – with corresponding cost benefi ts for the owner. In larger or more demanding applications, the SI SERIES CM-X can also be combined with other HK Audio installation products, such as the SI SERIES, VORTIS 2 or FINEO, ensuring a homogeneous sound transition to the main PA system.

The front of the speakers features the coaxial speaker arrangement with a central dome tweeter, short wave guide for the woofer and integrated bass reflex channels. The power selector switch on the front for switching between Low-Z (8 Ohm) or High-Z (100/70 V) and the respective power taps of the integrated transformer can be operated without tools, even during operation, thanks to the magnetically attached front grille. The enclosure of the speakers with high-quality steel backcan is very rigid and low-resonance thanks to its special shape and reinforcements. As a result, there are no disadvantages in terms of sound, such as those associated with inexpensive ceiling speakers in the form of rattling noises or resonances. All plastics used for the SI SERIES CM-X are manufactured with special flame retardant additives so that the relevant international safety standards are met as standard.

CM-4, CM-6 and CM-8 can be installed in ceilings without any additional accessories. Suitable C-rings and load distribution bridges are available as optional accessories for installation in suspended ceiling systems with limited load-bearing capacity. As standard, the delivery includes a rimless, very flat front grille in black and white, which can be quickly replaced thanks to magnetic fastening. A template, which is also included, allows the installer to quickly and precisely make the appropriate cut-outs.

Filter data for many different digital signal processors (DSPs) is available in the download area. Simulation data is also offered in GLL format for EASE (4.4/5) and EASE EVAC (2).

S210 V

High-performance passive subwoofer for installations in protected outdoor areas, equipped with 2×10″ woofers in a bass reflex cabinet. Large bass reflex tube with exponential contour for high-quality low-frequency reproduction and reduced flow noise. Especially for use in combination with the SI SERIES P10, but also compatible with many other HK Audio products. Optional U-bracket for all standard mounting options, also for flown installation with up to two S210s. Switchable connection impedance (4 Ohm and 16 Ohm).

Accessories

S210 U-bracket

The S210 U-bracket can be used to install the S210 V and S210 P subwoofers.

The U-bracket allows a single S210 to be mounted vertically or parallel to a wall.

It can also be used for ceiling-mounted installations with up to two S210s and flown installations, also with up to two S210s.

When installing two S210s, the optional extension plates (set consisting of two extension plates and two shims) are required.

P10 U-bracket

The factory-included U-bracket can be used to mount a single P10 speaker.

The bracket’s keyhole openings allow it to be hooked into M8 fixing points. It can also be mounted on four M5 screw connection points, which are arranged in such a way as to facilitate precise horizontal mounting.

Multiple P10s setups can simply be mounted on top of each other and, if necessary, screwed together with a connector plate so they are aligned together on the horizontal axis.

P10 Swivel and tilt bracket

Swivel and tilt brackets are used to align and tilt speakers towards the intended coverage areas.

Both individual and mixed P10 combinations can be used. Thanks to the adjustable tilt angle, speakers can even deliver good sound in difficult spaces (e.g. with highly reflective facing walls).

Two different swivel and tilt brackets are available for this purpose – these can support either a single P10 or a pair of P10s.

P10 Rigging rail

P10s can also be flown whenever then need to be positioned a long distance from the wall or if walls do not have sufficient load-bearing capacity.

The rigging rail designed to do this can carry up to three P10s for high maximum levels as well as long ranges. A rear-mounted steel bracket with matching mounting points is available to tension and precisely align speakers.

P10 Ceiling mount

A ceiling mount is available for attaching a speaker to a ceiling and aligning it towards the audience areas below.

The concealed cable routing in the tube as well as the wide swivel and tilt range mean high-quality sound can be achieved even in difficult spaces where the speakers have to be positioned as close as possible to the audience area (for example, in very loud and/or reverberant environments).

The ceiling mount is the ideal mechanical solution for these applications, and requires only minimal space and mounting height.

The ceiling mount carries a maximum of two P10s.

P10 Pole mount

There is often a need to install loudspeakers on pipes, columns, masts or trusses.

The suitable solution for this is the P10 pole mount, which is screwed to the cabinet and provides a suitable support for typical tube or column diameters.

The mechanical connection can be made, for example, with clamps (available optional), which ensures non-slip and twist-proof mounting of the loudspeakers with little effort.

Mounting with clamps (available optional) can be a practical solution, especially in listed buildings where no holes may be drilled. For the mounting of P10 loudspeaker systems with the P10 pole mount, a certifi cate of ball impact resistance according to DIN 18032-3 is available.

This means that the P10 pole mount can also be used for installations in sports facilities, for example.

CM-4 C-Ring

Suitable C-ring for SI SERIES CM-4.

Thanks to their design, the C-rings can also be routed through a ceiling cut-out from the outside. On the inside of the ceiling, they are tightened with the mounting clamps of the speaker.

Lateral lugs on the C-rings are used for hanging in the optionally available load distribution bridges. Rows of holes on the load distribution bridges are used to adjust the mounting position and to screw the C-ring in place if necessary.

CM-6 C-Ring

Suitable C-ring for SI SERIES CM-6.

Thanks to their design, the C-rings can also be routed through a ceiling cut-out from the outside. On the inside of the ceiling, they are tightened with the mounting clamps of the speaker.
