Powerful and precise

With a peak power output of 1,400 watts and a maximum sound pressure level of 131 dB, the PORTABLE SUB 115 A (with a 15″ woofer) and 118 A (with an 18″ woofer) models deliver a powerful yet controlled low-frequency foundation. The combination of a powerful amplifier and optimised acoustics ensures precise reproduction even at high volumes.

The integrated 24-bit DSP technology automatically adapts to the selected setup whilst simultaneously optimising impulse response. The result is a clearly defined, contoured bass with high impact.

A system that adapts

The PORTABLE SUB series follows a consistent system approach with a clearly defined operating concept. By selecting a preset, the subwoofer is optimally matched to the LUNAR, SONAR and POLAR MK2 loudspeaker series.

For use with other systems, a general preset with a low-pass filter is available, enabling reliable integration into a wide variety of configurations. This ensures the system remains flexible without compromising on precise bass reproduction.

Well-designed signal routing

A built-in stereo preamp allows you to set up 2.1 systems without the need for additional external components. This is complemented by practical features such as input/thru connections, gain controls and a polarity switch for adapting to different set-up and system conditions.

Robust and easy to transport

The sturdy wooden cabinet ensures a clean, dry bass response whilst providing the durability required for mobile use. Ergonomically positioned MultiGrip handles make it easy to carry, whilst optional padded protective covers offer additional protection during transport.

Fanless design

The power amplifier uses passive cooling and therefore operates completely silently. This means it can be used even in noise-sensitive environments without any distracting background noise from fans. At the same time, maintenance requirements are reduced, as no air – and therefore no dust – is drawn into the unit. There is no need for time-consuming cleaning of dust filters, which further enhances reliability and longevity.

PORTABLE SUB is the ideal complement to the systems in the HK Audio PORTABLE SOUND series. The subwoofers are perfectly matched to LUNAR, SONAR and POLAR MK2, ensuring consistent, phase-stable performance. Thanks to dedicated presets, a subwoofer can be flexibly configured for a wide range of applications.

Made in Germany

The PORTABLE SUB series is manufactured at the St. Wendel site in Germany and is subject to strict quality controls. This ensures consistently high build quality and reliability in everyday use. HK Audio underlines this commitment with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty following registration.
