The ultimate live performance system

When it comes to delivering truly powerful performances, the LINEAR 5 series components prove to be absolute powerhouses. Designed to handle daily use masterfully, they are the most powerful speaker series in their class, both in the passive and active versions. The robust LINEAR 5 system family, designed in traditional wooden construction, guarantees long-lasting use, making it the tour companion of choice for professional bands, DJs and rental services. It frees up space in the truck and, even more importantly, in the budget. The LINEAR 5’s perfectly matched mid-range driver/tweeter and three fundamentally different subwoofers make it the perfect bespoke solution for events with up to 3,000 people and more.

Excellent long and short throw performance

Whether for powerful, high-volume music transmission, high-fidelity speech reproduction or background sound – the finely tuned LINEAR 5 set configurations live up to the high demands that a durable, high-quality PA system has to meet. HK Audio’s specially developed Multicell Transformer (MCT) technology in the long-throw version manages to achieve what is normally only possible with larger horns or line arrays: distortion-free transmission at a high effective level. A real all-rounder, LINEAR 5 also boasts simple and intuitive handling.

LINEAR 5 112 F

12″/1″ full-range mid/high unit with the strongest bass range in its class and asymmetrical horn ( 60º – 90º x 55º ) for optimised sound distribution. The switchable EQ means it can be used in stand-alone applications or in a stereo pair, as well as a system mid/high unit in conjunction with a LINEAR SUB subwoofer.

LINEAR 5 112 X

12″/1″ model in a multifunctional housing with exceptional maximum sound pressure (135dB max. SPL peak) in combination with the Linear Sub 2000 for system applications. The LINEAR 5 112 X is also ideally suited as a monitor with plenty of gain before feedback; the rotatable 60° x 40° CD horn produces exemplary dispersion.

LINEAR 5 115 F

As a stand-alone speaker with a maximum power handling capacity of 2,400 watts peak, the 15″/1″ full-range mid/high unit is the loudest reference in its class. Like the LINEAR 5 112 F, it is equipped with an asymmetrical horn for optimum dispersion, allowing it to provide a wide dispersion at the front while directing the sound more focussed in the back for a greater range. LINEAR 5 LTS

In the past, only large line arrays have been capable of projecting the entire frequency spectrum powerfully over 30 m and beyond – until now. For the first time, the LINEAR 5 LTS brings true long-throw characteristics to an ultra-compact format. For you as the user, this means that you’ll need fewer speaker components, thus saving valuable truck space. It also makes rigging and ground stacking much easier and faster. This makes the new LINEAR 5 Long-Throw-System LTS not only the simplest, but also the most economical solution to achieve the best sound results for small to medium-sized live and corporate events as well as installation projects.

LINEAR SUBS are system subwoofers that work perfectly with the LINEAR 3 and LINEAR 5 mid/high units.

The system subwoofers all have a stereo input, so in addition to half-stack or full-stack applications, they can also be used as a 2.1 system or mono-summing sub-cluster.

We recommend the following combinations to achieve the ideal ratio between the mid/high unit and the subwoofer:

LINEAR SUB 1500 A and LINEAR SUB 1800 A with the LINEAR 3 mid/high units.

LINEAR SUB 1200

The LINEAR SUB 1200 was developed to complement the LINEAR 5 112 F/FA. The two 10″ chassis in the bass-reflex cabinet deliver extremely high impulse fidelity and a dry bass foundation that packs a lot of punch. The 10″ chassis not only provide plenty of power, they also allow for an exceptionally compact design in the LINEAR 5 112 F/FA format.

LINEAR SUB 2000

The LINEAR SUB 2000 is the perfect companion to the LINEAR 5 115 F/FA. It features two 12″ long-excursion chassis in a bandpass cabinet, which boast impulsive dynamics and an impressive low-frequency response below 40 Hertz. It performs well not just at peak impulses, but also at continuous power! To this end, the chassis are equipped with a dual damper that guarantees exact centring of the voice coil even under the most extreme loads. Advanced cooling technology effectively prevents the voice coil from overheating.

LINEAR SUB 4000

The LINEAR SUB 4000 is the flexible 18″ subwoofer from HK Audio. It is compatible with all LINEAR 5 full-range speakers and mid/high units and delivers an impressively powerful low-frequency response from 30 to 100 Hertz. The new LINEAR SUB 4000 can be used as a sub-low extension to the existing LINEAR SUB 2000, delivering powerful low bass in the range of 30 to 70 Hertz.

The two other active LINEAR SUB subwoofers can also be combined with the LINEAR 5 active mid/high units.

SYSTEM SUGGESTIONS PASSIVE

For more than 20 years, HK Audio has been a pioneer in the field of active sound reinforcement components, or in other words, speakers with built-in power amps and controller electronics. Integrated systems like these are often easier to transport, assemble and operate. However, there are still many applications, especially in the rental and installation sector, where a central power amp rack combined with passive speakers is the more practical or economical solution.

Based on the latest generation of advanced controller amps from market leader Lab.Gruppen, our application specialists have developed a concept for unified power racks where one amp rack can drive a variety of different HK Audio speaker setups with precision – all you need to do is activate the appropriate filter set.

A complete library of filter sets is already stored in the power amps’ memories. For professional users, a unified amp rack is the key to making configuration, handling, and operation simpler and flexible enough for use in smaller and larger systems, as well as simplifying service and maximising the lifespan. That’s why we call it the Key Rack. Easy to handle, highly efficient and cost-effective, with elegant remote control via iPad or PC, too.

KEY RACK 2.24

The Key Rack 2.24 is a lightweight, compact rack that is three units high. It is equipped with the new, groundbreaking IPD 2400 controller amps (2 x 1,200 W @ 4Ω) made by Swedish specialists Lab.gruppen.
The two IPD 2400s, the integrated power distribution and the preloaded LoadLibrary (preset settings) form the turnkey, highly efficient drive for the LINEAR 5 LTS system. As a result, the Key Rack can be used universally right off the bat. This makes professional applications with HK Audio systems of various kinds a piece of cake, while maximising the equipment’s operational reliability. At the same time, this simple and highly efficient system can be controlled remotely via PC or iPad.
