Gelsenkirchen, GermanyCOSMO ensures perfect sound for the Rock Orchestra Ruhrgebiet
Acoustic Pleasure (Marc Raschdorf) and Meiners Veranstaltungstechnik (Jan Meiners) relied on a comprehensive sound system from HK Audio for the Rockorchester Ruhrgebiet concert in the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheater. The two companies from Bochum and Herne chose the modular COSMO line array to provide optimal sound for the acoustically challenging open-air venue.
A total of 4x COSMO C10, 12x COSMO C8 and 6x COSMO C6 were used as the main system. The system was supported by 8x CS118 subwoofers, which were configured with cardioid presets to keep the stage effectively quiet. In addition, 2x LINEAR 5 LTS tops and 4x CF118 subs as outfills ensured even sound distribution to the side audience areas. Two C-Drive 8 with Lab.gruppen power amplifiers were used for system amplification.
When sound hits the mark – even in windy conditions
With its very wide audience area, open design, and frequent wind conditions, the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheater places special demands on the sound technology. In addition, there is limited access for vehicles, which underscores the need for a powerful yet compact system. HK Audio was able to master these challenges with ease using COSMO and the accompanying subwoofers – with clear sound dispersion, high speech intelligibility, and stable performance even in difficult weather conditions.
This wasn’t the first time they went with HK Audio: both Acoustic Pleasure and Meiners Veranstaltungstechnik have been using the German manufacturer’s products for several years now – out of conviction and based on consistently positive practical experience.
