HK Audio FINEO provides rhythmic backbone to Adieu bar

In the heart of Berlin, Adieu bar has carved out a unique identity. Created by a group of friends and inspired by the city’s effortlessly cool energy, the venue was designed to feel immersive from the moment guests walk through the door. But for founder and owner Julian Mathieu, atmosphere was never just about the interiors, the drinks or the lighting. Sound needed to play an equally important role.

“Adieu isn’t meant as a final goodbye,” explained Mathieu. “It’s more about moving on, creating moments, and staying connected to the people around you. We wanted the venue to feel alive, warm, intimate and energetic and audio was always going to be a huge part of that.”

With music shaping the mood from open until close, the team needed an audio system capable of delivering consistent, high-quality coverage across the entire venue without disrupting its carefully considered aesthetic. Whether it was relaxed daytime service or a packed late-night crowd, the sound needed to remain clear, balanced and immersive.

To achieve this, Adieu partnered with Berlin-based AV specialist DTB Veranstaltungstechnik, who specified and installed an HK Audio FINEO system throughout the venue.

A discreet system with powerful performance

According to Mathieu, finding the right balance between performance and design was one of the project’s biggest priorities.

“That versatility placed clear demands on the venue’s sound system,” he said. “From relaxed daytime service to busy late-night hours, we needed a solution capable of delivering both subtle, high-quality background audio and the clarity and precision needed for live music.”

FINEO proved to be the ideal fit. Designed specifically for premium installation environments, the system combines compact, visually discreet loudspeakers with impressive output and detailed audio reproduction. For Adieu, this meant the technology could blend seamlessly into the venue while still delivering the sonic impact required for a dynamic hospitality space.

“We needed a system that could handle everything – from everyday operation to professional-level performances,” Mathieu continued. “With HK Audio, we were able to meet those high standards while staying completely flexible.”

Built around the customer experience

The installation spans the venue’s different social zones, creating a cohesive listening experience throughout the space without overpowering conversation or detracting from the atmosphere.

The system was carefully tuned to support the venue’s evolving energy across the day. During quieter periods, the audio remains warm and unobtrusive, complementing the environment rather than dominating it. As the evening progresses and the venue becomes busier, the system effortlessly transitions to deliver greater energy, clarity and impact.

“The installation was carried out quickly and efficiently with HK Audio systems in mind,” said Christian Bruß, Project Manager at DTB Veranstaltungstechnik. “The process was straightforward from start to finish. The system was easy to install, thanks to the range of dedicated mounting accessories and the way everything integrated with the amplifiers. From the brackets to the coordination with the amps, it’s a very user-friendly solution.”

Beyond the performance benefits, the compact form factor of the FINEO loudspeakers also helped preserve the venue’s interior design.

For DTB Veranstaltungstechnik, Adieu reflects a growing trend within hospitality venues, where audio is becoming a central part of the customer experience rather than simply an afterthought.

“The installation was carried out in a venue where every detail had been considered,” said Bruß. “The sound system needed to complement that environment and support the overall identity of the space. FINEO gave us the flexibility and sonic consistency to achieve exactly that.”
